CIRCUS CLOWN ART
This set of drawings was completed in black India Ink as original hand drawings. No computers or computer graphics were used to create the images. They were primarily created with Speedball ink pens using permanent India ink. Circus clown prints are now available in the 10" X 12" size.
ANGEL ICONS: The angel art is a set of multimedia watercolor, ink and acrylic paintings. They will be published in a book, Angel Icon Alphabet Book. This book will include Bible verses and stories which relate to each painting.
Since gold was used in ancient icons, I have added 24-K gold leaf to paintings where appropriate. Painted metal colors were included in the images by adding different shades of gold and bronze powders to the paint. The original images will be for sale as they are completed. I maintain the copyright for the images and permission for them to be used in a future book and for exhibition. The original paintings are for sale.
The design of the original pages took much time, for the composition had to be planned in advance. Everything had to be authentic according to the stories in the Bible, yet created to keep the viewers eye within the art.
The original concept was a children's book. Now, however, I realize the book would be suitable for all ages. Contact Irene Baron at firstname.lastname@example.org for purchase information. This is an ongoing and time consuming project which life has detained. However it will be finished eventually.
AGATE ART: These paintings are primarily watercolor and colored pencil on 400-weight hot press illustration board. I order most of my supplies from Dick Blick artist supply company. To give you an idea of the general size of the paintings, I included an image of myself and two paintings shown at an exhibition.
The banded agates are all original art drawn and painted by myself. Quite a few have been purchased. One was purchased to reside in the office of the president of the Outward Bound offices. I don't know if it remains there. The prices vary according to the size of the paintings and the amount of detail. Detail translates into the time involved in completing a painting. The turquoise agate in the photo to the left is very intricate. The watercolor techniques made it one that was fun to create. The salt method of imbedding crystal shapes in the wet paint imitated the many crystalline shapes in the original agate mineral.
Each painting has some natural material imbedded within it. Sometimes the viewer has to look long and hard to find it. The natural material may be muscovite (mica), biotite, gold leaf, iron pyrite, lapis, etc. The original agate may be just a few inches in size. I use magnifying lenses to enlarge the mineral to see the multitude of details within the specimen. you can see the original turquoise speciman on a cellphone stand resting right above the painting to the left. A magnifying glass is seen to the right. The colored pencils used in each section are gathered in the box to the right for easy access. I also use a circular light which has a magnification lens in the center when completing extremely intricate work (upper left). I use four different light sources to highlight the flat surface.
