Irene Baron is a Keynote Speaker in Education & Astronomy. A passionate advocate for science education at all levels, Irene continues sharing her visionary education goals.
An outstanding science teacher of 43 years, Irene Baron has more teaching awards than any living teacher in the United States. A current pilot, she is an Information Specialist trained by the World Council of Engineers in London. Baron worked with the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), Supreme Command Headquarters, Research & Development Center in Thailand four years in Top Secret counterinsurgency research for Battelle Memorial Institute. In that capacity, she directed aerial photography involving Laos, Cambodia & Thailand from Air America/CIA Sikorski helicopters. She authored the geology and hydrology chapters of the classified Mekong River Project book for the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War and wrote the original ARPA Operational Procedures Manual for the Thai Laboratory Material Division. Knowledge gained through her Top-Secret military experiences aided in the creation of her acclaimed and award-winning science fiction , the Mindreacher thriller series.
Her astronomy research using NASA programs resulted in identifying the elusive Christmas star. The resulting nonfiction book won a Gold Medal as the best Christian education book of 2013. Her second book was awarded a Bronze Medal in the Biography category.
Baron was named “Governor’s fellow” by Governor George Voinovich for her “visionary approach to education and commitment to teaching.” Governor John Kasich and Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor officially recognized Irene Baron for an education award including “commitment and dedication to making a positive difference in her community and Ohio.” She has been recognized twice by the Ohio Senate and once by the Ohio House of Representatives. An outstanding science teacher of 43 years and current pilot, Irene Baron has more teaching awards than any living teacher in the United States. She taught Chemistry, Earth Science, Physical Science, and Forensics. She developed and instructed the International Marine & Insular Biology taught at the Forfar Research Station in the Bahamas for SE Ohio high schools 20+ years.
Baron completed National Science Foundation fellowships at Texas A&M University, Portland State University, and the University of Missouri/Columbia graduate schools with emphasis on Geology, Minerals, Vulcanology, Oceanography, Earthquakes, and Meteorology. Her degrees include Hiram College BA and Ohio University MA. A public speaker who helped train Dale Carnegie speakers, Irene has presented workshops and/or talks for the Science Education Council of Ohio, Ohio Earth Science Teachers, Association, The East-Central Section of the National Association of Geology Teachers, and other organizations.
As editor of the East-Central Section of the National Association of Geology Teachers Newsletter, she authored numerous education articles and created lesson plans for class laboratory experiments. Her education certification included Assistant Superintendent, High School Principal, Middle School Principal, and Teacher for all sciences in Ohio grades 7-12. She also instructs Classical Drawing for the Zanesville Museum of Art.

Her knowledge gained through 4-years of Top-Secret military experiences aided in the creation of her acclaimed and award winning "Mindreacher, the first book in her science fiction thriller series.
Irene Baron began her speaking career at age 15 as star of the WHIZ-TV half-hour Saturday African art programs for the Zanesville Museum of Art. She became a Thespian at age 16 and has spoken at numerous local, state, and tri-state events. She has been a Keynote Speaker in Education, Astronomy, & Religion since high school.
Baron was named “Governor’s fellow” by Governor George Voinovich for her “visionary approach to education and commitment to teaching.” Governor John Kasich and Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor officially recognized Irene Baron for an education award including “commitment and dedication to making a positive difference in her community and Ohio.” She was commended twice by the Ohio Senate for "outstanding achievement" and "tremendous achievement" and once by the Ohio House of Representatives. Irene Baron lived in SE Asia 4+, Germany 2+ years, and has traveled to 27 countries. She currently resides in Ohio. She has one daughter.
